Inner city Sydney is full of eclectic suburbs where you can experience all corners of the world on a plate. No matter what your favourite food is you’ll find a bite to eat in one of the many cafes and hole in the wall eateries. Marrickville is no exception and if you’re a foodie you’ll find plenty of things to do in Marrickville.
Marrickville is a vibrant foodie paradise whose history has changed over the last 33 years. It is a true local gem and only 20 minutes from the CBD. Being a local I have watched Marrickville change from a Mediterranean suburb of mainly Greek and Italian, of which there are still some excellent eateries, to a predominately Asian foodie precinct, mainly Vietnamese. There are plenty of things to do in Marrickville, but the food is definitely not to be missed.
There is a reason why people always talk about the amazing food in Sydney. With the amazing cultural diversity of this city comes people from all over the world that are looking to eat something from home. So, come, eat, and enjoy.
How it get there:
The inner city suburb of Marrickville is very easy to get to, you’ll simply need to take a train from any of the city loop stations (Central, Wynyard, Town Hall, Circular Quay, Museum station) and make sure that Marrickville is one of the trains stops (some express trains may not stop here). The train takes around 20mins.
