Something that a tourist wouldn’t usually experience.  This could be a trip down back alley ways, a journey through market places or a walk through the musical parts of the city.

What’s in it for me?

Verramente curates local people in cities all around the world and introduces them to travellers. We show your local story to travellers who are looking for a unique experience. Travellers are looking to see something they wouldn’t on your usual touristy city tour. We allow guides to set the experience you want to share in your city. You can set the cost of this tour and run the tour the way you want. We share your tour with those travelling and process payment on your behalf. After the tour has taken place we release the funds to your account within 48 hours. A portion of your tour cost, 20%, is kept by Verramente for services rendered, the remainder is sent to you directly.

What should I know?

When signing up as a guide you need to be aware that you are independent of Verramente, not an employee of the company. Nor are you, unless stated otherwise, working in a capacity as a licensed tour guide. You are acting in the capacity of a person with local expertise and experience sharing their knowledge. As such you are responsible for any relevant local tax and tour licensing requirements as deemed necessary by your local authorities.

What’s the process to become a local guide?

Once you have submitted the form below we will contact you within 48 hours to arrange a video call. This video call will be a quick interview to ask about your background. You can tell us about the tour that you intend to run. After this we will contact you to provide photo identification, at which point we reserve the right to conduct a criminal background check if deemed necessary.

Within 5 business days of receiving your identification we will be in touch to let you know if your submission has been accepted. At this point we’ll ask you to submit payment information for your first payments. When accepted we will help you to create the best content possible to describe your tour on our site, give you guidelines for your tour for your safety and the safety of our travellers and post your tour to attract your first customers!

What happens if I need help?

What happens with payments?

Once a traveller has booked your tour you’ll be informed via email. You will need to confirm this booking within 48 hours of the traveller booking otherwise the traveller’s payment will be automatically refunded. As part of this confirmation you can communicate with the traveller the times of the tour if not already stated on your tour post. The traveller is able to cancel the tour with a full refund if cancelled before you accept the tour or more than 48 hours before the tour is set to commence.

The funds, 80% of the tour dollar amount, will be transferred into your designated bank account 48 hours after the tour has been completed please allow up to 5 business days for international bank transfers.
